Reading

Reading and writing are an amazing and efficient way to communicate. Where would our human race be if we hadn't learned to read and write? But...what if there were a much better way to communicate? A way to write and read that is easier to do, more efficient, and more effective? What if we are missing out on something that would advance the human race much more quickly and powerfully?

Nouns and verbs Some people think in terms of nouns. Probably most of us do. Dictionaries incline us to do so. And so people study and categorize every thing as if it were a noun - especially thinking here of abstract concepts. But what if verbs are a better way to express and categorize many of our thoughts? What if verbs were the overarching categories in our encyclopedias and indexes, not nouns? Or at least if they were featured as full partners along with nouns? What if topical dictionaries had entries like 'loving' and 'making righteous' rather than 'love' and 'justification'?

Reading, notes on

An irony: we want to understand life, so we turn to books, which effectively pull us out of our lives. The more we read, the less we live in our own world/lives.
